Portofino Group Malaysia was established by Chef Keli and hometown friend, Luca in 2014, just a couple of years after they had decided to move from northern Italy to Malaysia to pursue their goal in making great, homemade pastas that are reasonable, without compromising on quality and authentic Italian taste.
Our first outlet was opened in Lucky Garden, Bangsar and became widely popular among the locals and also foreign residents who never felt short of nostalgia every time they come to dine at Portofino. And with this success, we had officiated the second outlet in The Sphere, Bangsar South in 2018, promising the same taste and quality in a more modern contemporary setting, surrounded by tons of greens and openness.
About Chef Keli
Chef Keli started cooking at the age of 14, experimenting passionately with ways to bring out the true Italian taste and constantly in the search for new techniques to improve them. Having worked for many years with 5-star restaurants in Italy, Chef Keli took on a new mission that could use his experiences and knowledge of Italian foods and make them accessible to most people.
After years of living in tropical Malaysia, the group decides to take on a new challenge that would combine brunch as well as all-day dining in a relaxed brasserie setting. Serving fusion comfort foods from cuisines ranging from modern European to local Asian. With the quirky idea that it is 5 o’clock somewhere around the globe every time, the name Five O’clock Brasserie was formed and more over, it is situated right next to Portofino, The Sphere, Bangsar South.
